Reconciliation: A local MPA and health executive district officer (EDO) have expedited their effort to broker a reconciliation after 24 out of 40 doctors of district headquarters hospital tendered their resignations to protest ‘inappropriate’ behaviour of Medical Superintendent Dr. Aslam Butt on Wednesday.

MPA Khalid Mehmood and EDO Zafar Iqbal Khokhar made their fresh round of reconciliation efforts on Thursday, but to no avail.

Doctors have accused the MS of using abusive language during a meeting. Situation in the hospital is turning graver as scores of patients remained unattended on second day after a majority of the doctors tendered their resignations to EDO and DCO.

When contacted, Dr Butt said the resigning doctors were performing their duties carelessly. They often used to remain absent from their duties and instead preferred running private clinics, he added.

Citizens have urged the chief minister and health authorities to urgently intervene in the matter.
