QUETTA, Oct 3: Provincial leaders of the All Parties Democratic Movement have asked traders to observe a strike on Oct 6 to protest against the chief election commissioner’s decision of accepting nomination papers of Gen Pervez Musharraf for the presidential election.

Former senior minister of Balochistan Maulana Wasay chaired a meeting of the leaders at the MPA hostel on Wednesday. The meeting devised a strategy to make the strike successful in Balochistan and constituted a committee that would hold talks with representatives of the business community. The meeting expressed satisfaction over tendering of resignations by the MPAs of APDM’s component parties from the Balochistan assembly and maintained that the APDM would launch a decisive movement against the dictatorship.

The meeting was attended by Hafiz Hamadullah (JUI-F), Usman Kakar (PMAP), Sardar Sanaullah Zehri (NP), Khudadad Khan (ANP), Maulana Abdul Haq Hashimi (JI), Ayaz Swati (PML-N), Maulana Zakarya (Jammat-i-Ale-Hadith) and Shahid Qazi of Tehreek-i-Insaf.
