Two tribesmen killed

QUETTA, Oct 3: Two Bugti tribesmen were killed and three others, including an FC soldier, were injured after security forces clashed with militants in the Jaffarabad area on Wednesday.

Seven tribesmen were arrested and a large quantity of arms, including rocket launchers, rockets, hand-grenades, automatic rifles and thousands of rounds of ammunition, was recovered after the clash. According to officials, Frontier Corps troops raided a militants’ hideout in Khalani village in Jaffarabad district. Militants are reported to have attacked the FC men after they cordoned off the area.

Heavy firing continued for more than an hour in which two militants were killed and three others were injured. An FC soldier was also injured in the encounter. The militants killed in the clash were identified as Khuda Bakhsh Chakrani Bugti and Nabi Bakhsh Chakrani Bugti. “They were wanted in several criminal cases, including attacks on security forces,” sources said. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital.

Meanwhile, militants claimed that four people had been killed in the clash, including a security force official and a woman.
