SWABI, Oct 2: Activists of the Islami Jamiat Talaba and Muslim Students Federation on Tuesday blocked the Mardan road in protest against refusal of the administration of postgraduate college to give admission to students who had cleared their FA and FSc examinations in the third division.

The students, led by IJT president Abdul Salam and MSF president Shamsul Rehman, marched from the college to the Gohati bus stop where they blocked the road.

During the road blockade, people faced difficulties as students did not allow anybody use the Gohati bridge.

The protesters raised slogans against the college administration and demanded that all students who had cleared their second year examination should be given admission to the third year.

They demanded that the number of seats should be increased and the fee should be reduced.

The college principal and local administration held talks with protesting students, and assured them of 20 per cent increase in the number of seats in the third year class, which would enable all the third division holders to get admission to the college.
