Dacoits strike five times

GUJRANWALA, Oct 21: Dacoits and robbers looted three houses, a wagon and some passers-by in five strikes in and around the city on Sunday.

According to details, five dacoits entered the house of Abdul Latif in Wazirabad by scaling the boundary wall. They held up the inmates and locked them in a room. They also beat some male members of family when they resisted. Later, they collected Rs50,000, gold ornaments weighing 12 tolas and other valuables, worth hundreds of thousands of rupees, and escaped.

Four dacoits sneaked into house of Muhammad Razzaq in Satellite Town. They collected cash, gold ornaments and other valuables, worth Rs150,000, after locking the inmates in a room. The dacoits escaped with the loot when the family raised an alarm and neighbours reached there.

Five dacoits stormed into house of Muhammad Hussain in Ladheyeala Warraich village. They held up the inmates, collected Rs45,000, gold ornaments weighing 15 tolas, electronic goods and costly wrist-watches, and escaped after locking the house from outside.

Four robbers intercepted an air-conditioned wagon on Sialkot road.

They deprived the passengers of cash and gold ornaments, worth thousands of rupees. Later, the robbers also looted several passers-by.
