LAHORE, Sept 29: An anti-terrorism court has directed the Lahore DCO to provide details of property of Mian Shahbaz Sharif, Punjab’s former chief minister, to the complainant of Sabzazar police encounter.

The court has marked October 10 for hearing Nadeem Asghar, who had appeared before the ATC on behalf of Mian Shahbaz Sharif.

The court is hearing an application by Saeed-ud-Din, the complainant in Sabzazar police encounter case, through his counsel Aftab Ahmad Bajwa.

The FIR, lodged against Shahbaz Sharif in 1999 with Sabzazar police station, says he had ordered extra-judicial killings of five people when he was the Punjab chief minister. The complainant is father of one of the men killed in the shootout.

Counsel Aftab Bajwa said the court on June 17, 2004, had declared Shahbaz Sharif a proclaimed offender. He said section 88 of Criminal Procedure Code provided that property of an accused, not appearing before the court even after issuance of warrants, could be confiscated.
