KARACHI, Sept 26: Inspector General, Sindh, Ziaul Hassan Khan has directed police personnel to intensify patrolling, set up more kiosks and enhance surveillance to check growing heinous crimes like kidnapping for ransom and armed bank robberies in Karachi.

He asked SHOs to visit bank branches falling in their respective jurisdictions early in morning on a daily basis. “They must ensure deployment of banks’ security guards and proper functioning of secret cameras, besides consulting the administration for stronger security network,” he said while chairing a high-level meeting at the Central Police Office here on Wednesday.

The IG said police patrolling around banks, commercial centres and shopping malls should be intensified and plainclothes deployed.—PPI
