Uzair, Aftab shine in KG cricket

KARACHI, Sept 24: Hostile pace bowling by Uzair-ul-Haq and Malik Aftab helped Medicam CC score an unexpected 82-run victory over Pak Gymkhana in the 22nd Karachi Gymkhana Tapal Trophy Ramazan Cricket Festival at the KG Ground on Monday.

Uzair (three for 16) and Aftab (two for eight) ripped through the Pak Gymkhana’s top-order in their opening spells. Chasing a modest 116, Pak Gymkhana were shot out for a measly 33 in 11.2 overs with only No 9 Umar Shahid (11 not out) managing to enter double figures. Four of the batsmen were run out.

Earlier, Rashid Hanif (46 off 35 balls, five fours and one six) and Saifullah Magsi (34) rescued Medicam CC from 19 for five by adding 77 for the sixth-wicket.
