Robbers snatch Rs0.8m from accountant

OKARA, Sept 24: 3 Three robbers snatched Rs800,000 in cash from an accountant of a commission shop in front of a bank on Sahiwal Road.

Javed Iqbal was on his way to deposit cash with the bank when he was intercepted by three motorcyclists in front of the bank. They snatched the moneybag from Javed and also took him along with them. Later, they abandoned the accountant near Chak 53/2-L in injured condition. Javed was taken to the DHQ Hospital.

ARRESTED: The B-Division police claimed on Monday to have arrested three members of a gang wanted in several robberies.

On a tip-off, a police party headed by SHO Tariq Awan raided Jan-i-Mul Graveyard and arrested ringleader Mustafa, Sajjad and Abid with unlicensed weapons. However, their one accomplice, Yasin, fled. — Correspondent
