Two robbers held

GUJAR KHAN, Sept 22: The Punjab Highway Patrolling Police arrested two robbers near Sohawa after exchanging fire.

SP Dr Azam said that the five-member gang looted a house in Kharian on Thursday night and escaped from the scene. Soon after receiving a wireless message, the patrolling police in Jhelum and Rawalpindi districts were put on high alert.

During a hold-up on the GT road, the Missa Kaswal post spotted the car being used by the dacoits on the run. The patrolling squad chased the car and the dacoits abandoned their car and tried to escape in the hilly area of Tarraki near Sohawa.

However, two accused were arrested who were identified as Imran, resident of Taxilla, and Nasim Khan, resident of Charsada. Their three accomplices managed to escape.

The patrolling police recovered two pistols of 30-bore, 4 magazines, 4 cellphones and Rs3,000 in cash.
