HYDERABAD, Sept 22: District Coordination Officer Hyderabad, Aftab Ahmed Khatri has announced here on Saturday that wheat flour with immediate effect will be sold at Rs14.50 per kg at all the Bachat bazaars established by the district government in all the four talukas of the district.

He issued these directives while presiding over a meeting at his office, here on Saturday.

The meeting was held to review the prices of the edible items during Ramzan.

All the special magistrates, EDO revenue, EDO CDD, EDO agriculture, administrator market committee and other officers of the district government attended the meeting.

The DCO directed the special magistrates to pay frequent visits to the Bachat bazaars and ensure the sale of wheat flour at Rs14.50 per kg. He further directed to award exemplary punishment to the profiteers.

The DCO informed the meeting that from Sept 14 to 20, a fine of Rs238,080 has been imposed on 314 profiteers, while a fine of Rs10,000 has been imposed on 25 persons for violating Ehteram-i-Ramazan Ordinance.

He appealed to the people to cooperate with the district government in its campaign against the profiteers and file their complaints at the complaint centres to enable action against them.
