‘Govt ignoring college teachers’

Published September 22, 2007

MULTAN, Sept 21: A protest meeting of the Punjab Professors and Lecturers Association, Government College Bosan Road unit, was held here on Friday.

Addressing the meeting, Prof Naimatul Haq said that since college teachers were being neglected, restlessness and frustration were growing among them.

He said that the government was ignoring the problems of college teachers, including appointments, transfers and promotions. Similarly, the promise made by the prime minister regarding the up-gradation of their posts could not be implemented whereas university and school teachers’ identical demands had been accepted and implemented.

The meeting was presided over by Prof Tanveer Shah.
