Eight held, arms seized

QUETTA, Sept 19: Jaffarabad police recovered a huge quantity of illegal arms and ammunition from Pat Fedder area and arrested eight criminals on Wednesday. Official sources said that contingents of police raided three different places in Pat Feeder area of the Jaffarabad district on a tip-off about the presence of wanted criminals and illegal arms and ammunition.

Eight alleged criminals involved in various robberies, murders and kidnappings for ransom were arrested.

The arms seized included 23 A-47 rifles, 32 pistols, four other rifles, two rocket launchers, four rockets , 3000 rounds of different arms and 30 kg of high explosives.

“Wanted notorious criminal Blawal Bugti was also arrested during the raids,” Sohail Sheikh, District Police Officer of Jaffarabad, said, adding that high explosives seized by the police party were being used by criminals for conducting blasts and blowing up power poles.
