Exemption

ISLAMABAD, Sept 19: The Federal Board of Revenue (CBR) has exempted customs duty on import of two kinds of raw materials used in the manufacturing of pharmaceutical products.

The decision was taken through a customs notification SRO954 of 2007 by amending the SRO567 of 2006.

The FBR exempted customs duty in excess of 10 per cent on sugar — pharmaceutical grade — imported by manufacturer of pharmaceutical products in the quantity to be determined by ministry of health.Similarly, the customs duty in excess of 10 per cent has been notified on import of PVC/PVDCL — pharmaceutical grade.
