Wasim shines in final

KARACHI, Sept 17: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) overcame Saudi Pak Bank by 31 runs in the final to clinch the first Meezan Inter-bank cricket tournament at the Asghar Ali Shah Stadium on Sunday.

Batting first, the SBP were bowled out for 131 in 24.2 overs. Wasim Ali (40) and Zohaib Ali (20) were the main scorers. Vijay Hazari, Naved Rasheed, and Asif Taufeeq took two wickets each.

Saudi Pak Bank, in response, were dismissed for 100 as Fazl-ur-Rehman (3-17) and Wasim (2-15) bowled extremely well. Obaid Rab Nawaz remained not out at 25. SBP’s Wasim got the man-of-the-match award.
