QUETTA, Sept 17: A division bench of the Balochistan High Court has ordered the Balochistan University administration to initiate disciplinary action against the teachers who did not take classes regularly or had been appointed on political basis.

The bench comprising Chief Justice Amanullah Khan Yasinzai and Justice Akhtar Zaman Malghani on Mon-

day expressed dissatisfaction over compliance with the court’s order regarding

teachers recruited on the basis of favouritism in disregard to merit.

The court issued the orders during the hearing of a suo motu notice on the conditions in the educational institutions, including the Balochistan University.

The judges said it had come to their notice that some teachers in the university did not take their classes.

They ordered the administration to take action against such teachers.

The court directed the controller of examinations of the university to ensure transparent conduct of exams and take action against the candidates involved in cheating.

The court ordered the

commandant of the campus peace corps not to allow outsiders on the premises of the university.

It asked the deputy inspector-general of police to deploy personnel to the Government Science College to prevent wall-chalking.

The hearing was adjourned till Oct 23.
