Nine shops blown up

KOHAT, Sept 13: A powerful blast in a market in Bilitang town, 8km from here on Rawalpindi road, destroyed nine shops on Thursday morning, police said.By the time Saddar police and bomb disposal squad personnel reached the Afridi market, six CD shops, a saloon and two tailoring shops were completely damaged.

The bomb disposal squad said the explosive used in the blast was of 4kg which created a four-foot deep crater at the place.

A watchman at the market said he was sitting in a nearby square when he heard the explosion. Police have registered a case under the terrorism act and started investigation.
