MARDAN, Sept 13: A lawyer belonging to the Takhtbai tehsil, who was kidnapped on Sept 8, was recovered by police on Wednesday night.Kidnappers had demanded Rs5 million for the release of Younis Khan, but his relatives had refused to pay them the amount.

Police subsequently arrested a number of suspects who identified the culprits.

Shamsul Qayyum, a brother of Younis Khan, said the lawyer had been recovered from the Shergarh village.

Talking to Dawn, district police officer Akhtar Hayat Khan Gandapur thanked local people, especially lawyers, for their cooperation.
