RAWALPINDI, Sept 12: Two persons suspected to have been poisoned died at the District Headquarters Hospital here on Wednesday.

Tasneem Afzal, 25, started vomiting shortly after eating a fruit chat from a vendor in Chontra on Tuesday. He was immediately taken to the hospital where he died on Wednesday morning.

Police said a murder case has been registered against two persons; however, an investigation would be started after the chemical examiner’s report was received.

In a similar case, a 55-year-old man died in the hospital apparently due to poisoning.

The deceased was identified as Asim Saeed, a resident of Waris Khan.

His body was handed over to his relatives after a postmortem. The Waris Khan police have registered a report and started investigation into the death.

Meanwhile, a doctor who went missing after leaving his clinic is believed to have been abducted from Wah Cantt, police said on Wednesday.

Dr Mohammad Anwar Khan left his clinic for home at 9.30pm on September 10, but did not reach his destination.

Our staff reporter from Islamabad adds: Two persons were killed in separate incidents on Wednesday, police said.

Abdul Aziz was walking along the roadside at Bari Imam bus stop when a wagon (LES-1886) of route No 120 hit him.

The injured was taken to a nearby hospital where he died.

In another incident, a 16-year-old boy was run over by a train in Dora village near Fatehjang.

The police said the boy was crossing the railway track when he was knocked down.

The body was shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) for legal process and later handed over to his family.
