KOHAT, Sept 11: The Taliban destroyed two oil tankers in Darra Adamkhel on Sunday night. The tankers were returning after delivering oil to foreign troops in Afghanistan.

The drivers had stopped in Darra Adamkhel to rest for the night.

According to sources, some Taliban sprinkled oil on the tankers and put them on fire. The drivers escaped unhurt, officials said.

ATTEMPT FOILED: In another incident, an attempt to blow up a CD shop in the heart of Kohat city was foiled by timely action of police on Monday night.

Athar Waheed, an assistant superintendent of police, told journalists that terrorists had placed a 5-kg bomb outside the CD shop which is located in the old bus terminal area.

A bomb disposal squad was called which soon arrived and defused the explosive device.

Earlier, a scare had been created by a loud bang in the posh KDA township, which was apparently caused by the bursting of a tyre.
