GUJRANWALA, Sept 9: Six dacoits looted the house of an industrialist here on Hafizabad Road on Sunday.

Reports said the robbers stormed into the house of Amir Aziz by scaling the boundary wall. They held the inmates hostage and made off with gold jewellery, cash and mobile phones worth Rs1.2 million. Police have registered a case and are investigating.

MOOT: Wifaqul Madaris Al-Arabia Pakistan chief Maulana Saleemullah Khan has said that army operation on Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa in Islamabad is a black chapter in the history of Pakistan and the government will have to face its consequences.

Speaking at a Shariat conference at a mosque on Ratta Road here on Sunday, he said ulema and students of seminaries would continue their struggle for the enforcement of Shariah in the country. He said an Islamic TV channel would be launched soon.

SUPPL EXAM: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education has issued roll number slips for secondary school certificate supplementary examination 2007.

Controller (examination) Dr Mumtaz Ahmad Awan said all arrangements had been completed for the supplementary exam to be commenced from Sept 19.

He directed the candidates to approach the deputy controller (examination) at BISE office in case of non-receipt of roll number slips till Sept 15.
