Rivalry claims six lives

MANDI BAHAUDDIN, Sept 7: Six people were shot dead while three others were injured over rivalry in suburban village Miana Gondal on Friday night.

Two groups headed by Zulifiqar and Mukhtar had rivalry because of pending litigation for the past three years.

On Friday, Zulfiqar along with his companions was present at the outhouse of his cousin Ahmad Yar when assailants belonging to Mukhtar group equipped with automatic weapons shot at them and fled. Six people, including Zulfiqar, Inayat Ali, Imran, Tahir Abbas, Mazhar Iqbal and another, were killed on the spot while three, including Shan, Qamar and Nawaz, were hospitalised with critical injuries.
