ISLAMABAD, Sept 7: The on-going campaign against profiteers and hoarders has proved to be an exercise in futility as prices of daily commodities in the twin cities are continuing to register upward trend.

The people of the twin cities said that the prices of edibles specially the chickens witnessed immense increase in the recent past.

Chicken was being sold at Rs100 per kg while the rate of eggs increased from Rs42 per dozen to Rs60.

Shopkeepers attributed the increase in chickens to shortage of chickens and said that they were selling the chickens with little profit.—Online
