NAROWAL, Sept 5: More than 70 people, including 20 children, suddenly fell ill due to gastroenteritis in Chanderke Rajputan on Wednesday.

On receiving the reports of the epidemic, Health Department staff, the district coordination officer and the district police officer arrived at the village.

Executive District Officer (health), Capt (retd) Mohammad Ashraf and DHQ Hospital Medical Superintendent Muhammad Abbas set up a camp at the village with a team of 25 doctors and paramedics to treat the patients.

The disease broke out due to unhygienic drinking water in the village.
