MIRPURKHAS: Two injured in firing

MIRPURKHAS, Sept 5: Two persons, including a former unit in-charge of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, were injured in a clash between two groups over a petty dispute here on Tuesday night.

Reports said that the dispute between Ayaz and Abdul Saboor rose over some TV cable which resulted in an exchange of fire at Nat Para near railway station area.

Aijaz alias Aijaz Panga, a former unit in-charge of the MQM Mirpurkhas chapter and the elder brother of Ayaz had reportedly tried to stop firing.

However, Aijaz and Abdul Saboor sustained serious bullet injuries and were rushed to the Civil Hospital Mirpurkhas.

Later, they were referred to Liaquat University Hospital Hyderabad due to their severe conditions.

Abdul Basit, brother of injured Abdul Saboor lodged a case with the town police against Ayaz.

No arrest was made till the filing of this report.

RELIGIOUS DAY: Religious day of Hindu community “Kanoro” or Janam Ashtami was celebrated with great enthusiasm in different parts of Sindh including Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, Sanghar and Tharparkar areas.

In this regard colourful ceremonies and events were arranged by the communities of Mirpurkhas, Tharparkar, Sanghar, Umerkot, Dhoronaro, Chhor, Pithoro, Kunri, Digri, Jhuddo, Samaro and other areas, in which Bhagats paid rich tributes to the community’s Kirshan Bhagwan while children presented tableaux.

Kolhi community of Umerkot prepared a statue of their deity and performed traditional dance around it. In many temples of Umerkot and Tharparkar, devotees offered worship and prayed.
