Former MNA joins PPP

JHANG, Aug 31: Former MNA Nawab Amanullah Khan Sial has joined the Pakistan People’s Party.

The announcement was made by Sial himself during a meeting of Jhang district PPP office-bearers, workers and ticket applicants on Thursday.

Sial was first elected to the NA in the 1985 partyless election. Later, he joined the Tehrik Nifaze Fiqah Jafria (TNFJ) and contested the 1990 general election from a PDA platform, losing heavily to Maulana Iassarul Qasmi of Sipah-i-Sahaba. He was elected to NA for a second term on PML ticket in 1997 by defeating Maulana Azam Tariq of the SSP.

During his speech at Thursday’s meeting, Sial said he was joining the party unconditionally. “However, my son Khurram Sial is a candidate for the party ticket for a provincial assembly constituency. But I will continue to support the party candidates even if my son is not accommodated,” he said.
