BADIN, Aug 31: Police have registered a criminal case against the Special Assistant to Chief Minister of Sindh, Ghulam Murtaza Memon, his driver and three unidentified persons under section 506/2, 353, 337/A-1, 337/F-1, 341, 342, 147, 148, 149 PPC.

The case was registered on the directive of District and Session Judge Badin on the complaint lodged by social mobiliser Tawana Pakistan unit, Badin. No arrest was made till the filing of this report.

According to reports, Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader Murtaza Memon, along with a group of armed men, reportedly attacked the officials of Tawana Pakistan on Thursday last and the district coordinator of the programme, Mohammad Qaisar Anees, accused the police for lack of interest in registering the case.

Meanwhile supporters of MQM leader Murtaza Memon took out a rally which was led by Naseem Memon, Waseem Ghouri.

They marched on Quaid-i-Azam road. They were demanding withdrawal of the case against Murtaza Memon and others and jobs in Tawana Pakistan.
