Swabi man becomes rich overnight

SWABI, March 13: A poverty-stricken person has become overnight rich after winning a Rs3.6 million BMW car in the Red and White lucky draw shown on PTV on Sunday night.

The winner, Muhammad Rafiq, resident of Swabi adda, was not at home when this correspondent tried to approach him. But his aged father Muhammad Sareer said he (the father) had been working in a chemicals factory in Gadoon Amazai and earning only Rs2,600 per month. Minus from it the bus fare and other expenses when at work, the salary shrinks to a paltry Rs1,500.

Walking with his (left) broken leg, he said it was a result of an industrial accident but he had been attending to his duty all this while to earn his livelihood with dignity and honour.

My daughter has already been married. Now, only Muhammad Rafiq is my whole world,” he said, adding that all this was the mercy of God who blessed them with such a reward.
