20 PADC members booked

MULTAN, March 13: The district police on Wednesday registered a case under Maintenance of Public Order (MPO-16) against 20 members of the Pakistan-Afghan Defence Council (PADC) for using abusive language against the government during a rally on Feb 5 last.

According to details, the council staged a rally at Ghantaghar Chowk in alliance with different political parties on the Kashmir Day. Some of the leaders reportedly used abusive language against the government, criticizing its policies.

The case was registered against Khawaja Obaidullah, Bilal Butt, Intizar Qureshi, Khalid Mahmood Qureshi, Mazhar, Abbas Raan, Dr Arif, Rao Zafar Iqbal, Imran Liaquat, Khalid Mahmood, Shaikh Muhammad Aslam, Abdul Jabbar Sindhu, Rasheed Ahmad Arshad, Qari Abdul Rauf, Qari Tayyab Jallundhry, Mazhar Jameel Qureshi, Khawaja Abdul Rahman, Abdul Wahab, Hassan Raza, Jameel Nasir and Ehsanuddin.—Nouman
