KOHAT, Aug 26: A man and his two children were injured in a bomb blast outside their house in Miankhel bazaar on Saturday night.

They had been hit by splinters of their house’s main iron gate. The gate was completely destroyed in the blast.

The injured were identified as Abdul Mateen and his sons Bilal and Pakeeza. They were taken to the Liaquat Memorial Hospital.

Mateen complained that the helpline 15 did not respond to his repeated calls for help and police reached the place 15 minutes after the blast. The electricity supply to the house could not be restored for several hours.

The blast was so powerful that a rickshaw parked inside the alley and windowpanes of flats and shops up to 30 yards away were completely shattered. The bomb was planted in the rickshaw when its owner was in his home.

Police have registered a case against unidentified persons. —Correspondent
