NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Aug 25: A large number of people from Molhen village demonstrated against a landlord opposite the press club here on Saturday.

The villagers were led by Umeed Ali Solangi, Abdul Hakeem Solangi and Mohbat Solangi. They complained the henchmen of wadera Ghulam Shabbir entered the house of Ms Zubeda and looted gold ornaments, Rs30,000 cash and took away three buffalos.

They said that as Ghulam Shabbir was an influential person therefore police did not register a case hence they had to file an application before Sessions Court. On court orders, Naushahro Feroze police registered a case against wadera Ghulam Shabbir Sehto, Allah Wasayo, Wazir, Rani and others.

They complained that investigation police were not arresting the accused and were trying to dispose of the case under B-class. They appealed to the Provincial Police Officer, the home minister to intervene and ensure justice.

ASI jailed: Additional Sessions Judge Kandiaro sent an Assistant Sub-Inspector Police to Central Jail Sukkur in wrongful confinement case, on Saturday.

ASI Mohammad Juman Channar was an absconder in crime No 94/06 who surrendered before the court of Additional Sessions Judge Kandiaro Iqbal Ahmed Khwaja. He was arrested and later sent to the Central Jail Sukkur.

The ASI Mohammad Juman along with the then SHO Mohbat Dero, Khamiso Khan Janwari and others had illegally confined six persons in Oct 2006.

PML-N rally: Activists of the PML-N took out a rally on Saturday to hail the Supreme Court decision of allowing Nawaz Sharif to return home.

They were led by district president Manzoor Mughal, Sikandar Rind and Sain Rakhio Chandio.

Sit-in: About 150 residents of village Mohammad Moosa Siyal staged sit-in opposite office Tharushah on Saturday.

They complained that Hesco officials disconnected electricity to the village.
