North Zone take lead

LAHORE, Aug 24: In a low-scoring PCB inter-district championship game, North Zone Blues earned a first innings lead over North Zone Whites on the first at the LCCA ground on Friday.

North Zone Whites, after being bowled out cheaply for 145 in 52.5 overs, saw North Zone Blues placed at 146-8 off 32.3 overs at the stumps.

Afzal Shah (36) was the top scorer for the North Zone Blues.

A fine knock of 76 by opener Mohammad Afzal helped West Zone Whites to earn a first innings total of 269 in 74.1 overs against West Zone Blues at Cricket Centre ground. Off-spinner Nazir Ahmed earned four wickets for 73.

In reply, West Zone Blues were five for one in the first innings by close of the play.
