Tribal clash claims five lives

MIRAMSHAH, Aug 21: Five people were killed and eight others injured when two tribal groups clashed over a land dispute near the Miramshah village on Tuesday, eyewitnesses and officials said.

The clash between the Gul Adam group and residents of the Miramshah village started at 8am and both the groups used heavy weapons to pound each other’s positions.

Meanwhile, security forces, backed by helicopter gunships, targeted suspected locations in the Shawal area on Tuesday morning, damaging residential compounds in Toda Cheena and Kumba villages, the officials said. However, no loss of life was reported in the attack.

An army convoy was attacked with two remote-controlled devices in the Razmak subdivision. The convoy was going to Bannu from Razmak.The first device targeted the convoy on the Razmak road while the other was detonated near the Khajori check post.
