LAKKI MARWAT, Aug 21: Three people were killed and three others sustained injuries when a passenger van collided with a truck on the Indus Highway near Tajazai, police said on Tuesday.

Witnesses said that the truck driver lost control over steering wheel and hit the Bannu-bound van. He escaped after the accident.

The truck, loaded with fruit crates, was going from Peshawar to Dera Ismail Khan.

The deceased were identified as Sakhiullah, Azizur Rehman and Mir Abdul Rehman. The injured were Arifullah, Farmanullah and Muzamil Shah.

Police have registered a case and started investigation.
