LAHORE, Aug 20: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) can accept turncoats back into its folds if they apologise “unconditionally” to their district’s party officials and they accept their apology.

PML-N Punjab president Sardar Zulfikar Khosa told a press conference on Monday the decision to accept the turncoats was taken at a meeting of the central working committee.

He, however, hastened to add that the Chaudhrys of Gujrat, federal religious minister Ijazul Haq and railway minister Sheikh Rashid would never be accepted in the party. Provincial secretary general Raja Ashfaq Sarwar was also present at the event held for announcing the joining of party by former PPP MPA Altaf Ahmed Ranjha, of Mandi Bahauddin, Osman Ranjha, also of the same district, Ehtesham Murtaza Cheema, of Sargodha, and Dr Akhtar Laleka, former federal minister Abdul Sattar Laleka’s cousin, from Bahawalnagar. Office-bearers of the districts were also present. —Staff Reporter
