PESHAWAR, Aug 20: Arrangements for a public gathering of the All Parties Democratic Alliance (APDM) at Jinnah Park on Sept 6 have been reviewed. A meeting held here in this connection decided that party workers from all over the province would participate in the event. The Awami National Party (ANP) directed its district organisations to mobilise workers for the demonstration against the military-led government from all over the country, a press release said.

Addressing the meeting, Afrasiab Khattak said the ANP would play an active role for the revival of democracy and would join all democratic forces, which were against the ‘unconstitutional and illegal government’ of President General Pervez Musharraf.

He said the political parties in the country were now divided into two blocks; one which supports General Musharraf and army rule in the country and the other which was striving for an end to military rule, revival of democracy and promoting a democratic culture.
