HARIPUR, Aug 18: A woman was shot dead by her brother-in-law after a scuffle between her husband and his younger brother. The incident occurred in the limits of the Ghazi police station on Friday evening.

The police quoted Zahoor Khan of the Aldo Ghazi village as saying that he and his younger brother Tahir Khan exchanged hot words over a domestic issue which led to a scuffle. His brother Tahir Khan took out a 30-bore pistol and opened fire at him but his (Zahoor’s) wife, Fozia, 34, was hit by the bullet. She died on the spot.

This was the second case reported to police involving the murder of a woman in the past two weeks, police said.

Earlier, a man had allegedly shot dead his sister in Nika Pah Shah Maqsood village after accusing her of being involved in ‘immoral activities’.
