ISLAMABAD, Aug 18: Four members of a family, including a minor girl, were killed and three others injured in a traffic accident on Kohat Road near Fatehjang on Saturday, police said.

Seven members of the family including four women and two minor girls were coming to Islamabad from Kohat in a car. When they reached Bara Meel, the driver, Azmat Hayat, lost control while trying to avoid a bad patch on the road due to speeding and the car crashed into a roadside tree.

As a result, the driver and an 80-year-old woman died on the spot, while the other occupants of the vehicle suffered multiple injures and were shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims).

Two of the injured — Rani, 25, and three-year-old Ramin — died before reaching the hospital, while Nazish, 29, Sadia, 18, and Tooba, 4, have been kept in different wards and their condition is stated to be critical.
