PCB changes dates for Quaid Trophy

Published August 17, 2007

LAHORE, Aug 16: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has changed the commencing dates of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy cricket tournament and allowed the players who were playing league cricket in England and were not available for the Inter-district Senior Championship to represent their teams in the tournament.

The decisions were taken by the PCB Rules Committee which met here on Thursday with PCB director (operations) Zakir Khan in the chair, a PCB spokesperson said.

The Quaid-i-Azam Trophy will now commence from Sept 29 instead of Oct 5.

The meeting increased the number of participating teams in the Trophy from 21 to 22 by including Sui Gas which had been relegated to Grade-II by finishing at the bottom last year.
