KARACHI, Aug 15: The judicial magistrate-1, South, Aurangzeb Alamgir Qazi, on Tuesday granted bail to civil rights campaigner Syed Mohammad Iqbal Kazmi in a dud cheque case against a surety of Rs50,000.

The case of a bogus cheque for Rs22,000 was filed by a transporter, Abdul Hakeem, with the Gizri police station on June 20.

Mr Kazmi, an undertrial prisoner in the District Jail of Malir, submitted the bail application to the court on Aug 9.
