GUJRANWALA, Aug 13: Commuters have protested the seizure of buses and vans by district administration and traffic police to carry people to Wazirabad to attend chief minister’s public meeting on Tuesday (today).

Reports said the administration and RTA sealed the general bus stand and impounded vehicles as a result of which passengers faced problems. Pervaiz Elahi will inaugurate a cardiology hospital in Wazirabad before addressing a public meeting.

MURDER: A man was killed while nine members of his family were injured on Monday in Qila Sunder Singh over eve teasing during a wedding ceremony.

Reports said Inayat Masih and his family were attending the wedding ceremony of his niece on Nowshera Road when Nasir Bhatti, Muhammad Bhatti, Akber Bhatti and Fazel Changer started teasing the girls. When Inayat stopped them, they thrashed him and his family members. Locals, however, brokered reconciliation between the parties. On Monday, the culprits attacked Inayat and his family with clubs, knives and axes. Inayat received serious injuries and died on the spot while nine members of his family were injured. They were taken to the DHQ hospital where they are in critical condition.
