Shabbir triumphs in CNS golf

KARACHI, Aug 12: Seasoned golfer Shabbir Iqbal did Pakistan Navy proud when he won the Open event in the Chief of the Naval Staff golf championship which concluded at the Karachi Golf Club on Sunday.

Bassam Shazli who carded a score of 219 claimed the honours in Amateurs net while the Amateur gross title went to Sher Ali with a score of 222.

Ghani Khan with 74 gross annexed the Seniors Professional title played over 18-holes while Mohammad Shafiq finished runner-up.Army’s Abdul Haq accumulated 71 net and Sohail Rana with 80 gross land 18-holes Senior’s title respectively while the Veteran’s honours went to Tahir Karamat (gross) and Mazharul Karim (net).

Syed Ashar Ali with a tally of 86 gross and Saadul Huda with 71 net returned with flying colours in Juniors category.

Sherin Khan with 90 gross and Kim Soon Cheon with 77 net won the ladies’ titles.

The chief of the Naval Staff, Muhammad Afzal Tahir, who graced the occasion, gave away the prizes.
