KARACHI: Two policemen shot dead

KARACHI, Aug 12: Two policemen were shot dead, one in Liaquatabad Town and the other in Lyari Town, late Saturday night.

ASI Mohammad Naseem, posted at Liaquatabad police station on intelligence duty, was ambushed by unknown assailants while he was on his way home. Five other persons were also injured in the attack.

They were rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where the ASI was pronounced dead and the injured were provided treatment. Hospital sources said Naseem had sustained two bullets and died at the spot.

In Lyari Town, a constable, Ashraf Ali, was shot dead by unknown attackers while he was passing through a locality of Kalakot area.

The victim, a resident of Chakiwara, was posted in the CRO department. Only a few days back, a policeman posted in the CID was shot dead in the same area.
