HYDERABAD, Aug 10: The Jamshoro district administration has assured the Sindh University authorities of protecting its land and taking action against mafia involved in encroachment of property in Sonwalhar and Khanpur Jagir Dehs.

The administration guaranteed support to security staff and patrolling party while deploying police force at the encroached area to monitor and stop further encroachment.

This assurance was given by the DCO Jamshoro Mohammad Khawar Jameel at a meeting presided over by the University’s Vice Chancellor Mazharul Haq Siddiqui, on Friday.

The meeting discussed encroachment and ways to remove it. The VC said the matter had already been brought to the notice of district administration with the Sindh Governor also apprised of the situation.

The Director Estate informed the area police was not taking action against encroachers rather releasing accused on the spot.

EDO Revenue Jamshoro informed the meeting that the land belonged to university and not to any other individual.

The DCO Jamshoro assured full cooperation and directed police to deploy its force in Sonwalhar Deh land and refrain from registering false FIRs against university officials.

He said a meeting at the DIG level will be convened soon to take action for removal of encroachments.

The meeting was attended by the EDO Revenue Ghulam Akbar Leghari, Registrar Mohammad Saleh Rajar, Director Estate Mohammad Usman Mangi, the TPO Abdul Majeed Rind, the SP Investigation Ghulam Hussain Mastoi, Security Officer Ghulam Nabi Kaka and others.
