KARACHI, Aug 9: City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal on Thursday announced the closure of all schools in the metropolis on Friday in view of a Met Office forecast of a thunderstorm, gusty winds and rains.

“We have decided to keep schools closed on Friday due to the continuing rains and the dangers associated with adverse weather conditions,” Mr Kamal told Dawn, adding that the decision was aimed at preventing electrocution and other risks involved.

A senior official of the college education department, however, said there was no announcement about the closure of colleges on Friday by the provincial authorities.
