KARACHI, Aug 8: A new SME policy will be launched at the first meeting of National Committee on Small and Medium Enterprises (NCSMEs) scheduled to be held on August 15 in Islamabad.

The implementation plan of the policy will also be presented at this meeting, convened by Minister for Industries, Production and Special Initiatives Jahangir Khan Tareen, who is chairman of the committee. According to the SME sources the meeting will discuss a five-year plan for the development of SMEs.

It may be noted that the federal cabinet approved the SME policy on January 17, and constituted the national committee to ensure its implementation. —APP
