KARACHI: CDGK men seek raised pay

Published August 6, 2007

KARACHI, Aug 5: Employees and pensioners of the city government and towns could not be paid their raised July salaries and pensions due to the non-issuance of the notification regarding 15 per cent increase in pay and 25-20 per cent raise in pension by the Sindh government.

Sajjan Union CDGK (CBA) KMC President Syed Zulfiqar Shah in a statement issued on Sunday said that the Sindh government had been in the habit to issue notifications two to three months late since 1985.

He said that the employees and pensioners of the federal and provincial governments of the three other provinces had already received their pay and pension according to the enhanced rates since July 1, 2007, while the employees and pensioners of Sindh were yet to get this benefit. They received their July salaries and pensions as per old schedule, he added.—PPI
