Zone-I, II Whites reach U-17 final

KARACHI, Aug 3: Zone-I Whites face Zone-II Whites in the KCCA Inter-zonal U-17 Championship final after winning their respective semi-final matches on Thursday. In the first semi-final, Zone-I Whites recorded a massive eight-wicket win against Zone-IV Whites at the KCCA Stadium. Fine bowling by Qamar and Syed Farooq, capturing three wickets each, helped Zone-I Whites restrict Zone-IV Whites to 123 all out. Then some good batting display by Umar Imtiaz (49) and Mannan Aftab (43) steered Zone-I Whites to the victory and the trophy decider.

Meanwhile, in the other semi-final Zone-II Whites defeated Zone-VII Whites by five wickets at the TMC Ground.

Batting first, Zone-VII Whites posted 200 before being dismissed in 49.4 overs with Hasan Sajjad (86) as the main scorer. Zone-II Whites achieved the required target in 49.1 overs while losing five wickets. Irfan Lodhi (80) was the chief contributor for the victors.
