Pending refunds

ISLAMABAD, Aug 2: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has asked all adjudication officers to release pending refunds of textile exporters by the end of the current month.

An official said on Thursday that the decision was taken following complaints from textile exporters whose refund cases were pending with the tax department for the last many years.

The textile industry-related exporters had filed more than 710 refund claims with the tax department prior to May 2004.

The official said the admissibility of the refund claims shall have be decided by the adjudicating officers by Aug 31.
