ISLAMABAD, Aug 1: The Secretariat Police have arrested a German national, who they found wandering at the Constitution Avenue during VVIP movement, sources told Dawn.

The sources said he was arrested when he was wandering about near the Radio Pakistan Chowk at a time when the VVIP motorcade was about pass.

He was identified as Kosh Michael, having passport number AO- 920820 and a valid visa for Pakistan till April 9, 2008. Later, he was shifted to the Secretariat Police Station and kept under detention behind bars.

The German Embassy was informed and its diplomatic staff were on their way to the police station, the sources said.

The sources quoted an official of the German Embassy as saying that Mr Michael had been arrested earlier by the Aabpara Police in the past while wandering about at Aabpara.

Till the filling of this report no case had been registered against the German national.
